Valentines Scratch/Handicap Rules 1. This tournament will have both a scratch and handicap division. Bowlers can choose either or both to enter. If a bowler decides to enter both, they will only pay for the prize fund for the other which is $45. 2. The pattern for the tournament will be on PBA Scorpion. 3. Both divisions will bowl 6 games, moving one pair to the right each game. Pairs of lanes are able to have bowlers from both divisions bowling on them. After the 6 games, total pinfall (with handicap in the handicap division) will determine the bowlers for the finale round. The finale round will consist of 1 game from the bowlers who won the handicap and scratch divisions. The winner of the finale round will receive $100 bonus. 4. The payout ratio for the tournament will be 1:6. The prize fund has been supplemented by Batt Family Fun Center in the amount of $500. $200 will go to first place for the handicap division, $200 will go to first place for the scratch division, and the remaining $100 will go to the finale round. 5. Averages used for the handicap division and the finale round for both bowlers will be the highest, latest USBC yearbook average converted to sport with a minimum of 21 games. If there yearbook within the last year, a current standing sheet from league with at least 21 games will be used, and if not, the bowler will bowl scratch in the handicap division. The tournament director has a right to rerate a bowler at any time, including during the tournament. Averages will be being checked also while the tournament is ongoing to verify averages. Because of the live standings of Tournamentbowl.com, the standings and side action results may change even after being posted. 6. It is the bowlers responsibility to write down their scores correctly on the scoresheets and verify any mistakes that might be on the standings. If you believe a mistake is made, the bowler needs to inform the tournament director immediately to correct the issue. 7. All USBC playing rules will be followed during the tournament. This includes the regulations with the string pins. If there is a disagreement on a score, please inform the tournament director and the matter will be resolved. For any inquiries about scoring changes on strings and what the rules are, the tournament director will have a print out of common FAQs about string scoring questions. 8.
